At the University of Ottawa, an Inspiring Exchange with Tomorrow’s Leaders

There are moments that remind you why leadership matters.

I had the privilege of being invited by Sara and the University of Ottawa to speak with students aged 13 to 15 about leadership, resilience, emotional intelligence, and the realities of navigating challenges in life and in the future workplace.

What struck me the most was not only their intelligence — but their depth, curiosity, and courage.

We spoke about:
• Quiet leadership
• The power of silence
• Setting healthy boundaries
• Authenticity and self-confidence
• Overcoming adversity
• Emotional intelligence in leadership
• How to stand out in the labour market while staying true to yourself

Their questions were powerful:
How do you overcome challenges?
How do you become an authentic leader?
What does executive coaching really change in people’s lives?
How can young people prepare themselves for the future?

These conversations reminded me that leadership is not about titles. It is about self-awareness, courage, empathy, and impact.

I left inspired and hopeful for the future of Canada. We have a generation of young minds ready to lead with authenticity and purpose.

Thank you to Sara and the University of Ottawa for this meaningful opportunity. It was an honour to contribute, even in a small way, to the development of our future leaders.
