Building Stronger Teams: A Two-Day Team Building Workshop Equipment and Housing Division | Office of Energy Efficiency | Natural Resources Canada
This immersive two-day workshop is designed to foster cohesion, communication, and collaboration within the Equipment and Housing Division. Grounded in human-centred principles and guided by the AEC/Rainbow DiSC methodology, participants embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and collective growth.
Day 1 – Self-Awareness & Individual Styles The first day invites participants to explore who they are as professionals and as teammates. Through the lens of the AEC/Rainbow DiSC framework, each person uncovers their dominant behavioural profile — represented by distinct colour archetypes — shedding light on their natural strengths, communication preferences, and opportunities for growth. Individual profiles are distributed and discussed, creating a foundation of mutual understanding and psychological safety. The day concludes with a deeper exploration of personal and team motivations, setting the stage for meaningful collaboration.
Day 2 – Team Synergy & Collaboration Building on the insights of Day 1, the second day shifts focus from the individual to the collective. Participants co-create a shared vision of what an exceptional team looks like, aligning on goals, expectations, and mutual commitments. Through an analysis of combined team profiles, each member gains clarity on their unique contribution to the group dynamic. A STAR-based (Situation, Task, Action, Result) action plan is collaboratively developed to translate insights into concrete next steps. Dynamic team exercises reinforce key learnings, while targeted communication workshops help identify and overcome barriers to effective dialogue.
By the end of the workshop, participants leave with greater self-awareness, a clearer understanding of their colleagues, and a shared roadmap for working together more effectively.
